No 740 heater Fan!! Help! It's cold up here! 700

My wife started her car, turned on the fan and went back to the house for a few minutes, while the car warmed up. When she got back to the car, there was smoke in the car and it smelled foul!

The fuse got so hot before it blew, that it melted the fuse socket housing!
How do I get the fan motor out of the car?? Anyone have this experience before?
It sure picked the right time of year to die!
