Putting a 1989 AW auto tras in a 1988 700

The cranks sensor is mounted in a small bracket bolted to the block, and the interrupter for it is part of the flex plate. If the donor car has LH-Jetronic 2.4 system that uses the crank sensor, the only "different" part that belongs to the transmission will be the bellhousing. Because there's an oil seal behind it, you should leave the bellhousing bolted to the transmission (read: don't swap your old one onto it). The crank sensor and interruptor ring will remain with the engine. The later trans is a direct bolt-in.
