Spare voltage regulator has electrical outlet 200 1990

I have a couple spare alternators and I used a voltage reg.(Bosch)from one and it was a little different than the one I took off my alt.It looks the same except it has a place for something to plug in to it(2 prong connector).I'm not sure if the alternator was from a 240,it is a Volvo (bosch) alt.70 amp, 14V.The VR looks newer and the brushes are well within specs.
Anyway it's working and my battery is showing 14.4 volts on the voltmeter at idle.I was just wondering what this connection is for.
