First sign of rust- help??? 700

Ok, so I couldn't get my car into my usual volvo mechanic. Brought it into Firestone because I needed to get back on the road. The front right bearings where shot! Three days later, after having trouble finding the correct bearing seal, which by the way I have a couple of free volvo bearings seals for anyone who thinks they may fit their car. I'll make a post with the parts number or e-mail me if interested.
Soooo, back to my problem. There is significant rust where the driver's side radius rod connects to the frame. How bad is this? Can it be fixed, is more the question? I can not send a picture at this time, just trying to get a perspective on the matter. To tell the truth, I have been worring about it since it was pointed out to me. Anyone have a best case and worse case senario. I do not want to loose my car of 12 years unless I have no other choice.

Thanks to all who respond.

Best Regards,

Anastasia
