Rusty Chassis 700 1986

Hello I have just had new front disks and pads and while jacking up the car with a ramp they called me over and said I have rust in the chassis in the UK passenger side. I looked at it and there is a hole about 2 inches in diameter just along the box section not far from the jacking point and also where the metal is welded/joined about 8 inches further back in which I could put my finger through it. It would not pass our MOT car inspection because of the rust and was MOT'd 6 months ago. The drivers side is fine with no rust. I presume I will need a new section welded in, as the rust is quite bad. So check your cars carefully. James.
