Fuel Pump Giving out over and over 700 1989

I have a 760t. I was reading a responce from Greg Mustang who said that if I didn't replace the tank pump too then my main would go out again. I replaced the main and six months later, it did go out again. I guess what I am wondering is, if the tank pump is working fine, why would the new main pump keep going out over and over? Is the tank pump feeding too low of pressure to the new main pump. Not that the tank pump is bad, but is the new pump designed for higher oncomong pressure?

Hey Greg, Thanx for the info! I think you may have been thinking I was someone else. I am actually fairly new to the brickboard. But the info is still appreciated.

Is there someone else with the Morpheus nickname? I just saw someone named Neo the other day and that is what gave me the idea. I'm a die hard Matrix fan.
