Rebuilding a 5-speed / M47 200

Hi brickers,
I have an early M47 gearbox with connection for a mechanical speedo. The tranny is quite noisy and I can feel play on the output shaft bearing (and input, but that normal being a C4 bearing). I also have a late M47 wich is in good condition. Since I need the speedo drive, will I be able to 'transplant' the drive parts (bearings, gears) from the late to the early type M47??

Thanks, Ben

btw. This early M47 moves the gear stick in 5th gear. When accelerating it moves forward, and when deccelarating it moves backwards (or the other way around, dunno anymore)(I think difference in position is about 2 or 3 cm). Is this normal, or also a sign of the tranny's wear...

Thanks again
