Reverse lights not working 200 1989

245 (wagon) or 244 (sedan)?

Is this a standard Transmission, or an auto?

The wiring is a bit different in each, but I would first check that fuse again. Maybe spin it in the holder, might just be dirty to the point where it's not making contact. Spinning it might break loose any crud.

Secondly, I'd clean the bulb contacts, both on the car and on the bulbs. After that, I'd look at the wiring to the bulb holders. It's not likely that they would both fail at the same time, but anything is possible.

If this is a standard tranny, your reverse light switch / wiring to the switch might be bad. I hear it's not a easy thing to get at.

I don't know much of anything about the auto trannys however, so I don't know where to look with that.

How did you check the bulbs anyway?
