Dealer cost for wiring harness replacement ? 700 1985

Does anyone know what the dealers charge for replacing a wiring harness ? In this case 1985 740 Turbo ? I am just wondering how much I am saving by doing it myself.

I am almost done with the job, but had to take a break for the day because my knees and back are really hurting. The information here encouraged me to do it myself. From a technical standpoint it is not that bad of a job, but a lot of work due to the number of tasks. It looks to me very difficult to do without pulling the intake manifold so I removed it.

Personally I think it is easier just to cut the original harness in several places to remove. The old wiring is very stiff and does not remove as easily as the soft new wiring installs. You have to be extra careful not to cut the wrong wiring if you do that.

Hopefully it will crank right up tomorrow.

Thanks

R Duke
