New life for front directional signal lenses

After I lost a lens from out '90 745Gl due to wind getting into a small crack in the lens, I checked the front lenses on our '88 745 GLE and found lots of small cracks in them.

What I did was to "Paint' the lens with Testor's liquid plastic cement. It soaked into the cracks by capillary action. It also "healed" all the fine cracks on the surface of the lens and smoothed out some of the scratches. I used a 1/4" artist's brush and lay it on pretty good. A second application a couple of days later made the lenses look quite good,

DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS UNTIL IT DRIES!!! The glue softens the plastic, and you will make marks. It will dry in a few minutes.
