Missing at idle, surging at 2500 rpm. 700

I have an '87 760 with the B230FT. I have had a low idle with a miss now for about a year. I noticed today that the car will surge (kind of a rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr-rrr) at exactly 2500 rpm. At higher rpm's it's fine, at lower rpm's it's okay. I haven't really done anything to the ignition side of things ecept new plugs when I changed the timing belt. I'm just hoping to get some suggestions on where to begin looking.
