Inspection Time.... 200 1987

Yup, its that time again for me. The dreaded NC State inspection and Emissions test.

I was just wondering what I should replace/ be worried about because I'm a little apprehensive about the possible results, even though my mechanic does my inspection and I could probably get by.

I currently have an open thermostat, could this cause me to fail the emissions test? Any tips as to how to get my emissions levels down (ie premium gas, gas additives, running the car for a certain time before the inspection to burn off any oil?).

Thanks in advance
