Optima batteries -any experiences? 200 1991

Brickmiesters:

It is almost time for a new battery.

We had 5 weeks of below zero weather, it's been a battery killing winter in the Northeast this year.

Last summer I bought 2 Optima Marine starting batteries (Blue Top) for my boat, and they are great for the application; a 351 PCM. (At twice the cost of standard ones).

Has anyone bought an Optima (Red Top) starting battery for an automotive application?

Pep Boys has them for $109, pricey, but I heard they are worth it; low self-discharge rate and very quick recharge times compared to standard cells, can accept up to 100 amps recharge rate, no-spill, 8 pro-rated year warranty, etc, etc.
