'73 p1800 es throttle position switch 1800

i suspect my tps may be faulty.(intermittant interruptions in fuel flow at moderate speeds sometimes during acceleration, less frequently at steady state speed) kind of just a hiccup.
i haven't tried driving with the tps plug disconnected yet.
a web search on the subject showed some old posts here with similar symptoms.
one input was to clean the contacts on the original tps. with my luck, i'd screw the thing up worse... don't mind doing that but would feel better if i had a spare unit.
anybody know a good source for these things?
tia, flaps
