92 960 check engine light 900

Hi Mike, Open the hood and on the left side behind the strut tower you will see two boxes. Take the top off the first box, insert the test lead into #2, turn the key on, and hit the button for more than a second but not more than three seconds. The codes will blink the light, then there is a short pause and some more flashing, then another pause then some more blinking. Those flashes are your trouble codes, they are three digit codes, 232,132 are some examples. WRITE DOWN THE CODES. Hit the button again after the codes stop flashing, more than one second and less than three, if the code repeats itself there are no more engine codes. If it starts blinking a different code, write that one down, do that untill it repeats the first code. To clear codes, hold button down for five seconds or more and let up. The light will come on and stay on. Press button again for five seconds and the light will go off, hit the button again for one second and not more than three second and you should get a 1-1-1 code. That means your code or codes are erased. I hope that is quicker than the search through the FAQ. Sped.
