Bulb Out Indicator Flashes When Using Turn Signals and Brakes 200

Does your Bulb Out indicator flash when you apply your brakes or use your turn signals? Here's a quick and easy fix. Many thanks to Dave Scholl of Dave Scholl Automotive in Santa Barbara for showing me this little trick.

In order to stop the BO light from flashing, Volvo added a delay timer to the bulb out circuit. Find a 240 in your favorite PnP, pull the bulb out relay out from under the dash and check the wiring harness for one of these:

It should be attached to a yellow wire with a blue stripe. Clip the wires and splice it into your own bulb out relay harness. This is my relay harness with the wire clipped awaiting the delay:

No more flashing light when I use the turn signals or brakes!
