AMM -- cleaning ? spare handling? 200 1989

Dear Bricksters,

I have swapped my regular 016 AMM with a spare I just got from a fellow Brickboarder. I got the spare for 1) emergency situation so that I don't end-up paying an arm and a leg should I fry my AMM in the middle of no-where and for 2) testing to eliminate a bad AMM diagnosis.

Since I have my AMM out (I'll keep it out for a week or so to test the spare with a full tank of gas) I have cleaned it after searching the archives and reading the warnings.

Here is what I did:

1) I wiped the outside with a damp cloth and dry cloth as suggested
2) I have very gently removed the mesh grid on both end and wash them (one side was smeared by blow-bys from the throttle body, the other side covered with soot or black dust
3) I stayed clear from the inside

When I put it back in I suppose I can clean the air intake hose and the small hard plastic hose that connect to the air box.
I will wrap the spare in bubble paper.

Any other suggestions about either AMM cleaning or handling of the spare?

Thanks.
