timming belt and oil leak 700 1988

Hi gentleman;

I'm driving a 88 740gle sedan. I need to replace the timing belt and I also have an oil leak. I have tried to get the crankshaft pully off, but am having some difficulties. I have tried both a strap wrench and trying to pry something in the pully. but, the pully still won't come off. Any Ideas? I know ipdusa makes a special tool for the job, but i figured that there was a easier way to take the pully off.

Second, the oil leak, I'm not 100% sure where its comming from. Does the water pump have an oil seal on the top of it or is that actually a water seal?
Next, I have bought all of the front oil seals. How does the camshaft sprocket come off? And do you need to take off the valve cover to replace the camshaft oil seal?
On the front of the motor other then the three oil seals, (the valve cover gasket doesn't appear to be leaking), any other possible places oil may leak from?

THANKS A LOT
mike
