Idle problems with '81 200 1981

Since you are running the K-JET system and you mentioned that the idle is rough (hunting)/almost stalling when cold but evens out (settles down) when warm I would check for a clogged/blocked Control Pressure Regulator (CPR). The CPR is that 4X2" square box in front of the fuel distributor and has two fuel lines that hook up to the top of it. It could also have a vacuum line that goes to the nipple of it or it can be left open to air (Like CA Models). When the CPR is plugged the control pressure on the fuel distributor plunger is kept too high and the car runs too lean when it should be running richer to warm up. Two allen wrench screws secure the CPR and it is fairly simple to take apart and to fix/clean. My 79 264GL would RUN ROUGH/STALL on start up and if I kept it running the idle would hunt until it warmed up. I opened up the CPR and cleaned it out and have not had that problem since then. Car starts fine on cold mornings and idles perfect when it's cold or warm.

Here are a couple of links that have helped me with my CPR issue:
