I finally installed the small tach, however ,it went different then I would have thought. I pluged the red/white wire into the + and the ground wires into the the negative. Then pluged a free brown wire into the lights. Is this going to get me into trouble, or did I by a chance, get this right? LOL It does work, but is it safe? I didn't use the thick wire/ G connection on the tach? Mine is a 240 with with a electronic instrument cluster.
