window guide materials 120-130

I replaced all of the window tracks, rubber door seals and scrapers when I did over my 4 door Amazon. I found a place in Ontario that sells window track material that is identical to what Volvo used. They buy the various sizes from a restoration site in Pennsylvania (sorry lost the link). You can buy the frame material (metal with fuzzy material) in 96" lengths and cut to size. It did take quite a bit of work, since the vertical sections, below the window scrapers have metal brackets that need to be removed, then re-attached with flush mounted rivets. The brackets hold the tracks to the window frame mechanism and to the door panels. Also, there are clips that hold the visible tracks and the top piece and these can be rusted. I did not take any detailed shots of this aspect, but here are a few shots as I was putting my Amazon back together:

Here's a link to the web page that tells you where to buy the window track material - Helga may tell you who their US supplier is?

I also bought the paper material used to cover the inspection holes. This was from a North American car, coated with a black plastic material, rather than the original wax-like coating that Volvo used. I attached these with olive drab duct tape, close to the original material.

Also, don't forget to restore the rubber door seals and replace the scrapers and as mentioned, keep those door holes open. This will eliminate most wind noise and keep the rain out.
