rattling, metalic sound around 2000 rpm 700 1988

Hello, All.

I have a question that perhaps someone would kindly address. During acceleration at around 2000rpm, I hear a rattling, metalic sound from the block, near what I believe may be the exhaust manifold (passenger side of the engine block). I thought it was perhaps the engine fan brushing against the plastic cover during acceleration, but it didn't appear to be the case. Thanks in addvance for any helpful guidance.

1988 740 gle wagon.
