Dashboard removed/installed, now no spark 200 1981

Thanks to all who helped with my dashboard removal question. My wiper linkage had come apart, and taking out the dash enabled me to reassemble it. However, now the car won't start. I'm not getting any spark. Coil to Distributor seems ok, but I get an erratic or no spark from Dist to Plugs. So could I have messed up something doing the dash? Not much in the way of connectors, all went back together, the only thing I messed with was the blue relay behind the glove box. I resoldered where the thin copper wire attaches to the board from the winding. Does this relay have anything to do with the ignition control unit?? My car has been running well except for a shaky idle ever since I've had it. I've always suspected the distributor, but haven't figured out how to test it yet. I tested the coil, it's ok. Any suggestions? I recently installed new wires, plugs, cap and rotor. Maybe 2,000 miles ago. When I looked at th cap today, the inside contacts were all black, looks like carbon. Is this indicative of something amiss in the distributor? Sensor plate or pickup or control unit??

Help!

Thanks
Scott
