Clutch M/C or slave? 700 1991

Vehicle in question is a '91 744T with 205K on it, M46+OD, hydraulic clutch. On several recent occasions, the clutch has failed to disengage when the clutch pedal was depressed (the pedal goes right to the floor with little or no resistance). Usually occurs when the vehicle hasn't been driven for a few days, and the temperature is on the cool side (it doesn't really get cold here). No external leaks on either the clutch M/C or the slave, and bleeding the system with a power bleeder hasn't helped. I've been able to "restore" clutch action each time by pumping the clutch pedal, which leads me to believe there's an internal leak in either the M/C or the slave. is there a diagnostic to indicate which is the more likely suspect? I don't especially want to replace both if I don't have to.
