oil cap fix cheap 700 1987

Oil was leaking out of oil cap, onto the cam cover making a mess.
Took out the rubber gasket off the oil cap, went to Orchard Supply (hardware retailer) and bought an o ring same diameter as the oil cap gasket.

The old gasket was hard and not sealing. The oring was slightly thicker.

After three hour high speed turbo run, not a drop comes out onto the cam cover.....

QUESTION- I noticed the oil trap hose runs up over the engine into the turbo intake
hose...... would it be better to vent the oil trap to the atmosphere rather than reroute
the oil vapor through the intake again- IS THIS a contributor to fouling the throttle body?
