Front Brake Problem...and a WARNING!! 700 1989

i have seen exactly that happen before, only the customer waited too long to do anything. a national chain store put pads, rotors and universal shims on a 740 turbo. the left front rotor was cut off the hub by a shim that got out. worked just like a lathe would. the rf did the same thing but hadn't gotten as far. i have used the oe shims for years and never seen this happen on anything. i guess they stay put. so long as your rotor doesn't get cut again the same way, you should be ok if only a little metal was removed. good luck, chuck.
