Before I go looking for a flat hood... 200 1980

A few weeks ago someone posted pics of his flathood swap onto an early 80's 240. Looked really clean, like it could have been the factory design in a parallel universe. He also said that the hood was a direct swap. I thought I'd try it myself. I went back looking for the thread but didn't find it.

Hmmmmm. A few days ago there was a thread about hood hinges and someone mentioned that the flathood and the early 80's hood have different latches.

Can someone confirm which way it really is? If the latch is different, will the flathood latch fit the crossmember on the models that came with a raised grille?

Thanks for any help you can provide.
