New valves in B234F 700

i finally went out in the driveway and decided to fool arround with the 740 a little more. It has been sitting up for a while now due to a balance shaft belt tensioner failure. When the tensioner went, it also jumped time. Tried to put it back in time and no luck.....until today! I went outside and pulled the timing belt, made sure all the marks were back in line and re-installed the belt. Got in and it started right up! The engine is missing pretty bad, but it is running and it will idle. My next project is to pull the head and see how many valves are bent. Anything I should do while the head is off? Anything to clean, replace, or inspect? Are there any special tools needed to replace the valves? How exactly should I check the valves to see which are bent? I really do appreciate all of the help you guys have given me on this car. Being a Volvo newbie AND all of the problems I thought I was having with the timing is pretty overwhelming! But thanks to you guys, I have a little more confidence.
