Hi,

I'm driving a 1992 965 with 272.000km or about 170k miles on it. It has snowed a lot over here in Belgium last friday, and the roads were extremely slippery. Something odd happened when one rear wheel was rolling normally over the road and the other was sliding over some snow: suddenly one wheel stopped, I couldn't get forward and the car shook heavily. I've had this before in the rain when accelerating fast and turning at the same time. It only happens at low speeds. When it happens, I put the gear in reverse, back up a little, put it back in forward, and it's gone. The car drives and handles like before.

I was a bit concerned that it could be the differential, but my uncle told me I should experience a lot of other things too (like hearing the differential wining and stuff), which I don't. He suggested that it could have something to do with the brakes blocking the wheel, which could explain why it disappears when backing up a little.

Has anyone else experienced this? What could it be? And how can it be solved? Thanks.
