whole lotta' shakin' goin' on 200 1984

So my '84 DL feels like it wants to fall appart at 50 MPH, and it tracks really poor. It's allignment time next week when I get the snowtires off, but what else should I do other than getting the wheels balanced? Tires are good, no steering issues, just really bad shaking and wobbling. Eating while driving is getting too difficult, as is talking on my phone (I know, I know, shouldn't do it.) Should the shop(firestone)be able to tell me if the tie rod/ends or ball joints are shot? Will re-packing the bearings help with this? I also have really bad clunking in the driveline at multiple points, especially when it's cold and I'm shifting into first or second. Any thoughts on this? I have over 200K, so what should a novice like me look for when I crawl under it? Also, thanks to the brickboard for helping me get it to run well!
