Replacement intervals for standard tune-up parts?

A Volvo indy shop that is supposed to be reputable is quoting the following as replacement intervals on a '91 740 NA that gets very easy miles (no city, no stop and go, lots of Interstate and country roads at about 60-65, inoperative AC so no added heat build-up issues):
Plug wires and coil wire, distributor cap and rotor, and air box thermostat all to be done every 30k per standard volvo guidance. (obviously plugs, flame trap, air filter, etc as well, but I agree with those.) Does anyone have any references which would support these 30k replacements? In my experience, I would do none of them in under 60k unless there was a particular problem. I am really looking for a check on this guy's credibility, since he says he is going exactly by what is in the service guides.

Thanks,Mike
