cut the line to flush the tranny? 700 1987

I'm trying to flush the ZF tranny on my '87 744. Everything is seized up. Hammer and chisel won't move the drain plug. Monster wrenches won't move the dip tube joint. At the radiator return line, near the top of the radiator, I can break loose the hex coupling from the large hex fitting that goes into the plastic tank (and also start to unscrew the large nut from whatever is behind in in the tank), but can't move the coupling relative to the pipe. The pipe is seized in the coupling. Tried PB Blaster and waited, no good. Gripped the pipe with vise grips until it started to deform, no good.

How about if I cut the pipe in a straight section, then flush, then use compression union fittings to re-connect. This is steel tubing; are there standard compression fittings that will fit?
