Do I need new engine mounts? 200

I have an '85 240DL wagon and when you start the car, the engine moves about an inch and a half back and forth and it seems like the engine mounts are worn but I don't know if this is suppose to happen on these cars or not. Also, the transmision moves a LOT as well. Like I can push down on the stick and it will go down about an half inch or more. I just got a new transmission mount today and wondering if I should install it or if the tranny is suppose to move that much as well. Thanks.
