1988 244 172K automatic.

do I need a new tranny?

ok so the fluid was low and wouldn't shift into 4th during HWY speeds , I put some in, now it is a lil above the marks, but plenty to go around. still it won't shift into 4th during HWY speeds. I need to replace the tranny pan gasket soon too cause it is leaking, but what could be the cause for this NO-SHIFT?

Internal damage?

It has operated just fine and very well until recently.

recently had fluid flush! kickdown cable seems to be fine too. OD relay works fine, but dunno about the solenoid - could that be it?
