Hey board,
Thanks to all of you who helped me with this thing.
I got lucky, found the 0 280 000 500 ecu for my 82- 240 at the pick and pull. They wanted $27.00. But of course when they got done adding on core charges, taxes, warranties, it was $51.00. You know how that goes. But I thought I was very lucky to find the thing.

Now Ive got both fingers crossed, hoping it lasts.

I did check my wiring harness. I discovered that the harness had been changed. Its wearing one of volvos post 88 harnessess, and it is in great shape.

Car is back on the road, running great. Only time will tell.

It is, however time to start looking for another car for my daughter. Ive seen the handwriting on the wall. The ECU thing was kind of scary. Nobody, that I could see, has the thing. Not even in their data banks.
