starting problems after sitting 3 months for my 780, getting ready 4 spring 700 1990

Pull the battery and give it a proper overnight slow charge, then try again. If it still won't hold any juice you need to replace it.
Although the battery might be relatively new you will have killed it if it was allowed to remain in a discharged condition throughout the winter. Better to have pulled the battery when you stopped driving last fall, charged it fully with a slow charger and then stored it in a warm dry place, charging again before use.
Trying to recharge this battery by driving is very hard on the alternator. In fact, even a new battery should be topped up with a charger before installation; much better for both the battery and your electrical system.
