Hi Colin,

I've been looking into this as well. My plan was to replace the volvo relay with a VW/Audi (Hella) adjustable wiper relay. Here is the relay.

I've been looking at older VW's in salvage yards trying to find one of these to experiment with but have not been successful.

The swap will not be "plug and play", some modifications will be needed. I intend to try and connect the new relay to the external components of the wiper system (i.e. switch, motor, etc.)through the fusebox.

I will need to study wiring diagrams for both the volvo and the VW to pull this off. I believe the volvo's automatic washer cycle won't work after this modification, but again, I need to experiment.

I'll post my results when I get a relay.
