VX cam vs an A cam 200

hi, alright heres my problem, im am on a budget and im trying to get more hp out of my 242GT. It has a b21F engine and im thinking of either installing the "A" cam from a B21A engine or the VX cam from IPD. I want to be able to accelerate a little quicker and as good as the VX cam sounds i think that it may transfer the power band to far up the rpms, (i dont want to have to shift at redline everytime to get the hp out of my engine). and id rather have a cam that does not have as much hp gain but will have better low to midrange acceleration then my stock cam. Would an "A" cam satify my needs? (in the volvo performance handbook, the A cam is listed as having a balanced power band), any thoughts would be much appreciated.
