muffler advice for my 940

Invar is 100% correct. If you peel the Starla sticker off the muffler, it will have a Walker sticker under it! I have the Starla system on my '91 740 and it is as quiet as stock. Hardest part is getting the old (usually completely rusted) system off. I had to cut mine in several places with a Dremel. New system bolts up quickly. Fit everything together and align it (to clear various obstacles and impediments) before tightening the clamps. Good luck.
