Shock bolts -- impact wrench required? 200 1990

Started to replace the shocks on my 240 yesterday, but was unable to break the mounting bolts loose - and didn't have hours to spare for the PBlaster to go to work. Do I need an impact wrench?

Also, does anyone know the correct box-wrench size for the oil pan drain plug? I've used an adjustable spanner in the past, but for some reason it's much tighter now. Thanks in advance.
