IPD Sways--Cheap Fabrication and Finish? 200

I just took advantage of the IPD sale to pick up a set of 25/25 sway bars for my 244. Rear bar looks OK, but the front has a really rough "sandy" finish to it, not polished or anything. Also one of the end holes is off center in the flat area.

Problem would seem to be that the rough finish might wear the center bushings as it pivots up and down. Also would prefer the holes centered. Looks pretty crappy too. Just a general sense of poor QC and craftsmanship, esp for what is their "marquee" product.

Bar was marked with a Feb 2004 sticker, so I know it's a recently made one.
Anyone else had this sort of situation? Have the front bars traditionally been polished, the way they appear in the catalogues? Advice appreciated.

Harald
