crash position sensor & power pack... SRS question 200 1990

Gentlemen,

Is the crash position sensor/power pack simply plug & play?

After the install, all I need to do is reset the diagnostic unit via the instructions in the FAQ?

Or, can I leave the battery disconnected for a time?

I am replacing the faultly unit from a time last summer when I "fixed" the lower steering universal and destroyed the contact reel in the process -which ultimately set off the crash sensor.

The contact reel has been repaired & a code/light still exists on the dash display. I searched the FAQ, got the codes, diagnosed the issue... and found a good unit on ebay for $30 w/ shipping and a 30 day warranty (got initial quotes from $100-350). Any wisdom would be appreciated.

TIA, Jon
