Removing Door panels and Sound Proofing an 85' 240 200 1985

I got the chance to drive my 85 240 after a couple of months. My other car is a 96 with fairly good sound insulation. The first impressions after so long where horrible. I could hear the road noise from the inside. It seems that most of the noise is comming from the front firewall and the rear wheel wells. I had sound proofed the headliner, rear half of the cabin and the rear quarter panels about 2 years ago. When I get the chance I will try to soundproof the door panels and the front half of the cabin if this would make a difference.

BTW What kind of tool or clips do I need to remove/install the door panels? How hard this is to do?

Does anybody know if soundproofing the hood would make any difference?
What other succesfull soundproofing techniques have you used with sucess.

Thanks

Michael
