steering rack rebuilds? has anyone done it? 700

Hey gang, the steering rack on my 88 740 is approaching that time in its life where it will decide it no longer wants to work.

I checked the prices for rebuilt racks at $300 sans core and was a little shocked.

has anyone out there rebuilt their steering racks?

know of any good sources for rebuild kits?
