is this a transmission problem? 200

Hard brake pedal = no power brakes.
.
Lack of power brakes can be caused by vacuum not getting to the
master cylinder. Check the vacuum hose from the intake manifold
to the master cylinder for leaks or disconnection. A vacuum leak
can also cause power loss. If the hose is fine, then the problem
may lie within the master cylinder power booster itself OR you may
have a vacuum leak elsewhere that's depriving the brakes of vacuum.
.
Good luck,
-b.
