They should be compatible.

I went the other way with my 83 245 and put on 86 or later mirrors and it was quite simple. The hardest part was beacause the 83 and 84 have the extra moulding I had to reduce the flange on the back of the mirror for it to sit right.

I also installed the power mirrors on the 84 and that also was plug and play. Just be sure you have the harnesses and toggle switches. I mounted my switches in the stock position on the handbrake console. Others like them on the dash someplace.

Once you start to open them up you'll see how easy it is.
