Steering Box Question 1800

I am doing a major overhaul of my ES and as part of that decided to tackle the steering box. This is my first venture into one of these. I noticed signs of leakage and the steering seemed sloppy. I never tried to adjust it, but figured since everything was off the body anyway I might as well fix it up.

I ordered a rebuild kit, expecting to replace the seals. The kit also includes bushings that, according to the book, should be pressed in and reamed. I don't have the special Volvo reamer and wonder if it is possible to open these up with a brake cylinder hone. The old ones do seem a bit loose so I would like to put in the new ones if possible.
