Yes they put two small speakers in the B pillars on the SE model. I also just dicovered when cleaning my wheels the SE wheels are 7 inches wide not 6.5 like the other cars. I have two speakers grills in the dash each containing a woofer (mid bass) cone and a seperate tweeter. Then there are four speakers in each of the doors that I beleive are woofers only. In the rear deck are another two, possibly subwoofers? In the B pillars are the two small tweeters facing the rear seating positions.
When you "poked around" in the rear to confirm there were now Nivomats how did you determine this? The Nivomat is a self contained self levelling shock absorber, hard to tell just by looking. If you really want to find out take a few hundred pounds of weight and put it in the trunk. Measure to see how much the car has sank from the weight. Drive the car around the block and measure again. The Nivomats pump themselves up while being driven. If you park you car and don't drive it for a long period of time the rear end will sag. You may pump up the rear by simulating suspension travel by jumping up and down on the rear bumper. I used to pump up the 960 we had in the showroom when I was at the dealer. After a month it used to sag at the rear and I would open the trunk, put my hands on the trunk opening and push it down repetedly. After a few pusjes the back end would be up to noraml height.
I have an original Volvo S90 brochure and it states all cars were equipped with Nivomats. this brochure lists all the differences between the U.S. and Canadian models. Did you know that we couldn't get light begie or light grey as interior colours in Canada?
