Service Light 900

Regarding the "Service" light on the instrument cluster, can anyone explain how to turn it off? My previous car was a 1990 745 Turbo and the reset light was extinguished by pressing the button in. Is it the same for my current car - a 1994 945 Turbo? Also, does the light on the 940 come on for the same reason as the 740? Thanks in advance for your help.
