Power Window Problem 200

I know this may sound stupid, but this method has worked on three different 240's that I have been able to fix for myself and friends...

I have a 90, and the other cars were that or newer, but here's what I did. Took the panel off, tapped firmly on the power motor, maybe 3-5 times with the end of a stout screw driver, spray lubed things, and all worked fine. I'm not sure what the guts of an 83 door looks like, and with that age, the motor may have failed, but this worked for me and I hope it does for you as well. An extremely cheap fix.
